So Complex just put out an article showcasing artists' talent in Cleveland. We have their write up and playlist below! This is a great look for the local scene! The nation is watching. Oh yeah, 9 out of the 10 songs they chose made #TheCosign3.
"For years, Cleveland has been a booming scene for hip-hop music that has birthed stars from the likes of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Kid Cudi, MGK, and many more. Aside from the talent that has broken out, Cleveland has always had a strong underground movement that has propelled artists like Ray Cash, Al Fatz, and more onto the national stage.
Now it's time to shine some spotlight on the next crop of Cleveland talent, who not only carry the all-out grind mentality of the city, but bring forth unique styles and versatility to showcase their own individuality. Whether it's Billard and his fresh sound over pounding trap beats, or Kipp Stone and his dominating lyricism, the city is onto something. From a youngster like Lil Cray, whose drill anthem, "Kyrie Irving," is beginning to blow up from the ground up, to someone like Ray Jr, who is a veteran in the city but continues to constantly put out hit-worthy songs. The Cleveland hip-hop movement is in a great place and looks like it will be for years to come.
