Often imitated but never equaled, the DJBooth Freestyle Series ran from February 2009 through June 2011. Its 250 total entries were the work of a veritable who’s-who of underground and emerging emcees, including stars of today like Kendrick Lamar,Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller. Now, it’s back for a second round.
The 51st entry in the relaunched series comes courtesy of Billard, a native of Cleveland who has gifted our readers with three new records (Can’t Get Enough,Fire and Hallelujah) in the past three months.
Over the co-production work of K.E. On The Track and Beat Mechanics, the buzzmaking rapper delivers wavy, braggadocious bars on Delete. Fred Lozanoprovides original artwork to accompany the freestyle.
Billard is preparing for the release of Love Day Part 2, a follow-up to the DJBooth-premiered Love Day EP.
