We are now at week 6 of our “Featured Artist Of The Week” series. We are providing a platform for these artists to share whatever it is they would like with their fans. This week we decided to reach out to Scene. Hit the break and check out what he had to say. Interested in being featured next? Email us: newclevelandmusic216@yahoo.com Bio: It started out as me being a DJ back in 2003. I was just messing with records and seeing what I can create with them. Then, it progressed to writing my own lyrics to popular songs. I began to love creating my own remixes that I started taking it more seriously. My cousins and I had a group called, "Mind Clarity", and we would record music or freestyle everywhere we could. Although it wasn't anything extraordinary, it was a way to express ourselves. With influences from music in all types of Hip-hop, my style is very versatile and unique. After releasing #SOTYGF on Valentine's Day of 2012, I realized people are starting to take notice. I have worked with many artists and DJ's in Cleveland and Atlanta, & released a few projects on DatPiff and Livemixtapes. The hustle doesn't stop, and will never stop. To keep it short and simple, I love Hip-Hop. Hobbies: A big hobby of mine is being a tech geek. Whether it's taking my computer apart to upgrade it or purchasing new gadgets for the studio, I always find myself fascinated by the latest technological trends. Also, I like working on car audio systems. Music is a big part of my life and I enjoy driving, so, I have to have the best sound in the whip! Another hobby of mine is eating. Call me a Chipotle addict, but, I'm there every other day. I swear. Oh, and I'm at Wasabi every Friday. As an Asian man, I gotta have my fix on sushi and delicious Japanese hibachi. Influences: I am influenced by so many artists, there would be so many to name. But, when I first started out rapping, Eminem was a big influence. Mainly, the movie 8 Mile influenced me. Other artists & DJ's that have made an influence are; Jermaine Dupri, Bone Thugs, Fabolous, Bow Wow, DJ Craze, DJ Flipside to name a few. Lately, independent artists have been more influential to me, such as; Zip K, Translee and Jinsu. Also, I can't forget about my family, friends & girlfriend. They are all influential in my life. And definitely shout out to the CeilingKidz. My homie Rich & Cartier were a big influence when this all really popped off. Also to everyone supporting that movement! Who I'd Like To Work With (Local & Non-Local) Locally, I would love to work with J-Ab, Lorine Chia, and Aaron James. I love having a true vocalist on tracks. I personally want to work with a whole lot of people in the area but those are a few names that really stood out. I have worked with Aaron James on a few songs but we definitely need to get some more music out there! I also want to link up with some more DJ's in the area to get my music in their hands! DJ Knyce & DJ Steph Floss... whatup? Non-local, I'd like to work with Jinsu, K Camp, Sy Ari Da Kid, YG, Ty Dolla $ign and DJ Mustard. One day, I'll make one of those happen. That's a goal! Anything I Want: Let me take this chance to just say thank you to everyone who has been supporting me throughout this journey. This sh*t isn't easy and it takes a lot of hard work and dedication. I've come a long way... it's officially been 11 years since I've made my very first song, and I still love doing this! I still have a long way to go just to make a name for myself but that doesn't discourage me from working harder! I feel like I've been through all the ups and downs in this but I've learned a lot and I still have a lot to learn as well! This is only the beginning. But again, thank you to all my fans, friends, family & girlfriend for putting up with me through the thick & thin. I don't want to sound like a typical rapper saying this, but, 2014 will be a year of great things! Big up to DJ Swerve & the entire ImFromCleveland.com team for having me as a Featured Artist!
