At first glance, John J has put a lot of pressure on himself attaching Dilla on the name. We can't lie we were concerned on what we would hear, he did start off by saying he means no disrespect to the late king of hip-hop but it's still quite the beginning to any introduction. Now we are not saying John J is the next Dilla, I mean thats a legend (R.I.P J Dilla). However, the Cleveland native has given us a project that even Dilla himself would be proud of, with 'Guardian Of The Sky'. The 16 track project has multiple songs that give you that gritty hip-hop feel with production that lays as foundation for John J to come through and work his lyrics bar by bar. Like what you hear?
